The UK\u2019s Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. Applicants can apply to a maximum of five universities, and institutions use the UCAS system to update students on the progress of their applications.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
From the 2026 entry cycle onwards, applicants must answer three questions. Each answer must be at least 350 characters, with a combined limit of 4,000 characters\u2014roughly 750\u2013780 words in total. The three questions are:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
Conditional Offer<\/h2>\n
An offer made on the basis of predicted A-level (or equivalent) grades, and, where required, entrance tests, interviews or a portfolio. A place is confirmed only if the student meets the conditions in their final results.<\/p>\nPredicted Grade<\/h2>\n
Grades estimated by a student\u2019s school based on mock exams and classroom performance. These predictions are a key factor in whether universities issue a Conditional Offer or invite the student for interview.<\/p>\nFirm Choice \/ Insurance Choice<\/h2>\n
Even if a student receives offers from all five UCAS applications, they may accept only two: one Firm Choice\u2014usually the offer with higher grade requirements\u2014and one Insurance Choice as a back-up if the Firm Choice conditions are not met.<\/p>\nInterview<\/h2>\n
